Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar; Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde; top figures of the African Democratic Congress led by David Mark; and key members of the Peoples Democratic Party under Tanimu Turaki have converged at Mark’s residence in Apo, Abuja, for what insiders describe as a strategic opposition gathering.
Among those present at the high-level meeting are former Attorney General Abubakar Malami, as well as former governors Rotimi Amaechi, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Aminu Tambuwal, Peter Obi, and Babangida Aliyu. Also participating in the talks are former Information Minister Jerry Gana and PDP National Secretary Taofeek Arapaja.
The closed-door meeting comes just hours after the African Democratic Congress staged a protest at the Independent National Electoral Commission’s headquarters in Abuja, signalling rising political tension and coordinated opposition activity.
