President Bola Tinubu has announced national awards for a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Joe Igbokwe, and 49 others who fought for the nation’s democracy.
Tinubu announced this on Friday during his speech to mark the 2027 Democracy Day. Also among the awardees is the National Publicity Secretary of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Osa Director. According to Tinubu, the awardees “suffered persecution, endured indignities, exile, incarceration, and, at times, solitary confinement, so that we have democracy today”.
President Tinubu said the categories of the awards would be announced in a few days’ time.
