Lionel Messi who currently plays for PSG and Argentina has again won the 2021 Ballon d’Or award, which held in Paris on Monday night in Paris. The other favourites, Lewandowski (Bayern Munich), Jorginho (Chelsea), Karim Benzema (real Madrid) and Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) missed out.
The football’s most sought-after individual prize was abandoned in 2020 because of the dreaded coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The last time the award held was in 2019, which Messi also won. As a matter of fact, the Argentine superstar, Lewandowski, Jorginho, Karim Benzema and Mohamed Salah are all worthy candidates for the prize after a stellar 12 months performance on the pitch.
