COVID-19: Buhari To Address Nigerians For A Second Time

For a second time since the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic outbreak in Nigeria with the index being an Italian who arrived in Lagos State, Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari will today at 7:00p.m. (West African time) address Nigerians. His first COVID-19 address was when he ordered a lockdown of Lagos State, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja and Ogun State because of the proximity of Ogun to Lagos.

Since then, some other states such as Niger, Delta, Rivers among others have joined in the lockdown directive. But as Buhari’s lockdown order expires today, there are indications that the president will extend the lockdown to enable the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) completely mop up all the affected cases. Buhari had in is Easter message urged Nigerians especially those in the states under lockdown to continue to stay at home.

Earlier today however, Mr Femi Adesina, in a statement said the president will again address Nigerians today. We present you with the full press release of the resident’s image maker:

Preisident Buhari Addresses The Nation: President Muhammadu Buhari will broadcast to the nation Monday, April 13, 2020 at 7pm.

Television, radio and other electronic media outlets are enjoined to hook up to the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) respectively for the broadcast.
