Ahead of the announcement by Nigeria’s Aviation Minister Hadi Sirika that August 25, 2020 remains the last day for any Coronavirus (COVID-19-related evacuation flights in and out of the country, Ethiopian Airlines has also declared that it will be operating its last evacuation flight out of Nigeria on August 21, 2020.
The management of the airline also hinted that the airline would resume regular operations when Nigeria opens its international airspace to flights. Speaking for Ethiopian Airline, Tilahun Tadese said: ‘The Nigerian Government and the American Governments have relied on the Services of the Airline to Evacuate their Citizens from Lagos, Houston, Abuja and Newark.
The Airline is Planning to Resume regular operations when Nigeria officially Opens its Airports for International Flights’.
