The senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, formally submitted a petition against Senate President Godswill Akpabio on Wednesday, accusing him of sexual harassment.
Speaking under Order 40 of the Senate Rules, Akpoti-Uduaghan stated that she had previously made the allegations against Akpabio during an interview on Arise TV and had now decided to present them officially before the Senate.
Following her remarks, Akpabio directed her to proceed with the submission, which she did. With her action, the senate is now bound to take a look at the petition. Some of he supporters also stormed the National Assembly Complex with placards to protest the alleged sexual harassment.
