The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State has said that President Bola Tinubu must finish two terms in office despite all odds.
“A southerner cannot do one term only. Muhammadu Buhari, despite all his shortcomings, served two terms. Tinubu must do two terms. He is a southerner,” said the Enugu State Chapter of APC during a well-attended stakeholders meeting held on Saturday at the party’s Secretariat, GRA, Enugu.
Addressing the gathering, the Chairman of the APC in Enugu State, Chief Ugochukwu Agballah said President Tinubu must complete his constitutionally guaranteed eight years as the President and Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Agballah said that all the opposition which the Tinubu-led federal government was facing were instigated by a particular tribe that is responsible for kidnappings, killings, raping of women and all manner of whatever the law prohibits in Nigeria.
“All the opposition you are seeing against Tinubu are opposition instigated by a particular tribe that has held Nigeria hostage. I won’t call their name. They are the tribe that is in our forest kidnapping us; they are the tribe raping our women,” said Agballah, who was quick to add: “And for the first time, they met their match in President Tinubu. That is why they are crying.”
He criticised harshly the rumoured coalition being anchored on the plank of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) to remove Tinubu come 2027, insisting that the coalition was dead on arrival.

Agballah said: “When you hear of SDP, this SDP is a Fulani-based party that wants once more, to grab power because Tinubu has dislodged them from controlling the security, armed forces of Nigeria. We must carry this information to our villages. Their plan is to use SDP to scather Nigeria. We must take this information to our people in the villages.
“El-Rufia is the poster-boy of that tribe. They have learned that we have garrisoned APC and they have no way there.”
On the politics of Enugu State, he said the problem with the state was that the oppressors have obliterated the opposition but “APC is the only platform kept by God and they will not obliterate it”
According to him, the only way Enugu State can liberate itself “is that we must align with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Jagaban”, adding that APC would win Enugu State come 2027.
Agballah also spoke on discipline in the state APC, stressing that the leadership of the party under his watch adopted the policy of “zero tolerance for moles” in order to sanitize the party.
He recalled the case of a certain Senator, who was recently suspended from the party because “he was speaking from both sides of his mouth”, besides suffering “optical problem” and having “cognitive challenges” as well as promoting the ideology of the other party on the pages of Newspapers.
According to him, the Senator’s suspension showed the way the party has been organised and restructured as well as sensitised.
Agballah said: “When we adopted the policy of zero tolerance for moles, People thought we were joking. But today, one of the Chairmen, who attended more PDP rallies than APC; he has willingly left the party because if the heat is too much in the kitchen, you have to leave the kitchen.”
The event also witnessed the new members who said they defected from their former parties, such as the PDP and the Labour Party in the 17 local councils of the state to the APC. They were all handed the Broom, symbol of the party.
