Twenty governors elected under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, have reportedly chosen Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State as Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum.
NewsBits reports that this development comes amid the reported removal of Governor Hope Uzodimma by the governors, shortly after the submission of Tinubu’s presidential nomination form.
According to Arise News, at an extraordinary meeting of about 20 progressive governors, including governors of Ogun, Bayelsa, Enugu, and 17 others, who met in Abuja, Uzodimma was removed and replaced with Mbah. Meanwhile, though the Director General of PGF denied that such a meeting was held, a source confirmed to our correspondent that over 20 governors met at the Ogun Government Lodge.
During the meeting, the governors were said to have expressed anger over Uzodimma’s leadership and resolved to remove him. “They made certain allegations against him, over 20 governors. They have settled for Governor Peter Mbah as the new PDF Chairman,” a top source in Abuja said.
