The Commissioner of Police in Enugu State, Mr Bitrus Giwa, has tasked newly promoted officers to be disciplined, dedicated and uphold the highest standards of integrity. Giwa gave the task on Wednesday in Enugu in an addressing after decorating four senior police officers promoted in the command.

The officers are: Olubisi Oyedepo and Ukwa Amaga, promoted from Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACP) to Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCP), respectively. Also, Afam Ofomata and Gladys Okafor, promoted from Chief Superintendents of Police (CSP) to Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACP).

The commissioner, while congratulating them, said that their promotions come with greater responsibilities. Giwa urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them through professionalism, diligence and exemplary conduct. He said that they would be judged by their competence, commitment and integrity; while encouraging them to remain steadfast in the discharge of their duties.

Reacting, DCP Olubisi Oyedepo appreciated the Police Service Commission for approving their promotions and to the Inspector-General of Police, Mr Olatunji Disu, for recommending them. Oyedepo, who spoke on behalf of the promoted officers, also thanked the commissioner for his exemplary leadership and guidance.

He assured that they would continue to serve with renewed commitment and professionalism. The decoration ceremony was attended by members of the command’s management team, other officers, as well as family members and friends of the promoted officers.
