Displaced civilians return after the war was declared ended by Gen Yakubu Gowon
56 years after the Nigerian Civil War, a new book on it with the title “History and Lessons from the Nigerian Civil War” will be unveiled to members of the public later today, Thursday, September 3rd,2026.
The book, published by ACENA Publishers Nigeria Ltd, is chronicled by three experienced Nigerian writers. They are Dr Uchenna Cyril Anioke, a seasoned journalist who is currently the CEO of Freedom Square Television, Enugu. Elder Obioma N. Ikechi and Chief James Egwuonwu.
The Public presentation is billed to hold as from 10:00 am, at the prestigious Amadeo event center, along Ebeano Tunnel, Enugu., Under the chairmanship of Surveyor Ugochukwu Chime. The invitation card indicates that the Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, is invited as the Chief Guest of Honour, whereas his predecessor, Ambassador Lawrence Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, is invited as the Guest of Honour extraordinaire.
The Special Guests of Honour to the event are Senator Osita Ngwu, representing Enugu West Senatorial District, and Senator Ikeje Asogwa, representing Enugu North Senatorial District in the Senate. The 2027 NDC governorship candidate in Enugu State, Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa, and Hon. Mrs Ginika Tor, the Federal Commissioner, National Salaries, Income and Wages Commission, Abuja, are also among the special guests expected at the event.
NewsBits reports that Rt Hon. Nnoli Nnaji, representing Nkanu East/Nkanu West Federal Constituency, and Rt. Hon. Toby Okechukwu, Executive Director, Projects, South East Development Commission (SEDC), will present the book formally to the public. The Co -Presenters are RT Hon. Festus Uzor, Hon Chukwudi Ezinwa, and Mr Gbadega Adedapo.
Dr Ambrose Igboke, the Chairman, Guild of Public Affairs Analysts Nigeria, Enugu State chapter, will review the book. The Royal fathers of the day are His Royal Highness, Igweb Abel Ogbonnaya Nwobodo, the first gr and Patron, Enugu State Traditional Rulers Council, HRH, Eze Joseph Anyanta, Enyi Ezeji of Ibina Ukwu, Igbere, Abia State, among others.
