Hope Uzodimma, Nyesom Wike
Former Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has accused Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, and other governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) of pursuing selfish interests.
Wike accused during an interview on Arise Television’s Prime Time on Tuesday night. He said Uzodinma was lucky that he (Wike) was not a member of the APC, adding that he would not have tolerated “the rubbish the governor is doing.”
Wike said that, rather than being pleased that he was contributing to President Bola Tinubu’s votes ahead of the 2027 presidential election, the governors were pursuing selfish interests.
“So, as I see today, I can tell you that we will win the FCT. As I see it today, with the support of all the people we have across the states, they are voting for the president. So, if APC has 20 and we have 10, and add it together, then they have gotten more. They are concerned about themselves.
“It’s about them, not about the President. When did this rainbow coalition come about? Why didn’t they say it then? Then they would have known what I would have said. You see, people just sit in one place, and then you do all kinds of things, and then you come up to think that you have your way all the time.
“You cannot have your way all the time. You can’t. It’s not possible. I’m not dragging anything between your party. I’ve never made a comment about the party, but I’ve made a comment that I will support Mr. President from day one. I never told the President I would join the APC. If I want to join the APC, it’s not people like him (Uzodinma) who will tell me to join the APC.
“He is lucky that I’m not in the APC, because I won’t take this kind of rubbish that he did in the APC. He should be lucky that I’m not there.”
