Rangers International Football Club of Enugu on Sunday defeated Kun Khalifat FC of Owerri on their home ground by 4-2 in week four of the ongoing 2026/2027 EuroMatch Nigeria professional football league NPFL game played at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri, Imo State.
The Flying Antelopes had, throughout the 90 minutes of the encounter, displayed professional soccer artistry as they dictated the tune of the game from the blast of the whistle to the end of the match. With the away victory, the defending champions now have seven points after three matches and currently occupy the fifth position in the league log with an outstanding one match between them and Warri Wolves.
Rangers opened scoring at exactly 27th minutes into the first half with a deadly shot from Temitope Florain, Jersy No. 10. Uncomfortable with the Enugu club side’s curtain raiser, Khalifat equalized in the 40th minute. However, before the first half of the match could come to an end, Rangers, via it’s utility player, Adebayo Waheed of Jersy No 16, kissed the opponent’s net in the 44th minutes, bringing the goals to two.
At the resumption of the 2nd half of the match, Rangers put in the third goal through the Jersey No. 7, Chimobi Igwilo at the 69th minute. Same winger, Igwilo beefed up the Rangers goals in the 88th minutes, bringing the total goals to 4.
The Khalifat boys who played with vigour, scored their second goal in the 88th minutes before the 90 minutes of the regulation time. Our Correspondent reports that the Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu boys had in their last match played on Thursday defeated visiting Nasarawa United 2-1 at same Dan Anyiam Stadium.
