The incumbent Governor of Osun State, Gboyega Oyetola on Saturday, won the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for 2022 Osun State governorship election. It was war of words with Nigeria’s Minister of Interior, Mr Rauf Aregbesola who hitherto felt he had a stronghold on the party machinery in the state.
Chairman APC governorship primary election Committee and Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman Abdulrazaq, said Oyetola polled 222,169 votes to defeat two other aspirants: Alhaji Moshood Adeoti and Hon Lasun Yusuf. The incumbent Governor who is also a member of the party Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee won in all the wards and 30 local government areas of Osun State.
Alhaji Moshood Adeoti, a former Secretary to the State Government and the anointed aspirant of former Governor Rauf Aregbesola, received a miserly 12, 921 votes.
