Nigeria’s one time Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mustapha Balogun’s remains has been committed to mother earth in his Ila-Orangun country home. He was known by his friends and cronies as ‘Tafa for short.
The media had reported the death of the Igbomina-born former number cop at Reddington Hospital, Lekki, Lagos Nigeria, and also the activities of his burial slated to hold today, Saturday. The deceased, who would have been 75 years few days to this time was buried according to Islamic rites.
Mammoth crowd and dignitaries were present at the burial, including several illustrious sons and daughters of the town. Tafa, as he was fondly called, was the IGP that succeeded Musliu Smith during President Olusegun Obasanjo’s regime.
