Enugu Police Rescue Four Christmas Travelers, Kidnapped At 9th Mile Corner

Operatives of the Nigeria Police serving in Iwollo Division of the Enugu State Command, said that they have

rescued in a forest at Akama-Oghe in Ezeagu Local Government Area, three males and one female victims, said to have been kidnapped along 9th Mile/Eke/Akama-Oghe Road, on 23/12/2022 at about 8pm.

But the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ahmed Ammani, was said to have ordered the Tactical Operatives of the Command to sustain ongoing manhunt of the kidnapping suspects, who abandoned the victims and escaped due to the intense pressure mounted by the Operatives to rescue the victims and apprehend them.

 The Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Daniel Ndukwe, disclosed this in a statement he issued in Enugu on Sunday.

NewsBits learnt that the police rescued the victims in synergy with personnel of the Neighborhood Watch and the Forest Guards at about 10am of 24/12/2022. Ndukwe stated that the “Police also recovered a black-coloured Mercedes Benz car belonging to one of the victims, while all the victims have been debriefed and reunited with their families.”
