No fewer than five people were reportedly killed while three others were injured when bandits attacked Kuringafa town in Kafur Local Government Area of Katsina State. A witness and X user, @DanKatsina50, who made this known in a post on Saturday said that the bandits who attacked the town on Thursday night also rustled several cattle.
He made the disclosure while reporting a fresh bandits attack on Yari Bori village in the same Kafur Local Government Area of the state on Friday night, barely 24 hours after the Thursday attack on Kuringafa town.
According to him, during the Friday night attack, the bandits kidnapped five girls but were pursued and engaged by local vigilante group members who rescued the five abducted girls. “Yesterday night, bandits invaded Yari Bori village in Kafur LGA, Katsina State, abducting five girls.
“But they were later followed and engaged by CWC & vigilantes group members who freed all the abductees and forced the bandits to flee. “This comes barely 24 hours after bandits attacked Kuringafa town in Kafur LGA, killing five people, injuring three others and rustling several cattle,” @DanKatsina50 wrote.
However, when SaharaReporters contacted the Katsina State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Abubakar Sodiq Aliyu, for confirmation and update on the incidents, he said he would make findings and revert back to SaharaReporters.
But till the time of filing this report, the police spokesperson has not reverted to SaharaReporters as he promised.
