NUJ Honours A Distinguished Police Officer, Despite Poor Public Perception Of Nigeria Police

The Nigeria Union of Journalists, Enugu State Council during the grand finale of its annual Press Week 2024, honoured five individuals who distinguished themselves in their various careers.

One such recipient of the Awards during the ceremony, which was held at the Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi Press Centre, Independence Layout, Enugu was a police officer – currently serving as the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), New Haven, Police Division within the Enugu metropolis, Mr. Ogbodo Chijioke Sunday.

NewsBitsng.com, hereby, reports the enviable profile of the DPO, who, in the rating of Enugu NUJ, deserved the Award with which he was honoured. Enjoy reading: “Ogbodo Chijioke Sunday hails from Enugu State Nigeria. He is a Superintendent of the Nigerian Police and the DPO of New Haven Police Station.

“He had his primary school education at Amechi Awkunanaw, Enugu State and secondary school at Urban Boys’ Secondary School, Enugu. For his university education, he attended Enugu State University of Science and Technology where he begged an LL.B (HONS.) in 2013. He then proceeded to the Nigeria Law School, Abuja (B.L)

2014.

“Due to his love for education, Ogbodo proceeded to the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus, for his Masters degree program and he thereafter bagged LL.M 2018 in flying colours. He is currently undertaking his PhD program in University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus.

Besides the NUJ Award, Ogbodo had been honoured with several other prestigious distinguished performance Awards such as:
