Tukur Mohammed-Baba, National Publicity Secretary, Arewa Consultative Forum, ACF, has hinted that the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Peter Obi, may not replicate his 2023 performance in 2027.
In an interview with Arise Television, Mohammed-Baba said it would be surprising that Obi would perform well as he did in 2027. He said: “Politics is for service to the people, and as long as you are not there to serve the people, your ambition remains personal.
“We are a country of about 230 million people, and the wishes of individuals to occupy the position of authority amount to nothing. Peter Obi made inroads in 2023 and performed wonderfully, but what has happened since then has depreciated the support.
“I would be very surprised if he performed as much as he did in 2023, especially given the choice that in the last year he has moved from two or three parties.”
