The Purple Crown FC of Enugu, on Thursday, thrashed De Don FC of Nsukka in the semi-finals of the Enugu State 2026 Football League. Crown defeated De Don by 1 – 0 to reach the finals that would be decided tentatively on Saturday.
In the first semi-final match played between Standard FC of Nsukka and AV Soccer of Enugu, earlier in the day at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Standard outplayed AV to book a place in the final bout.
Thus, Purple Crown and Standards will slug it out to determine who will lift the trophy. To book a place in the final encounter, Standard FC edged out AV Soccer by 5 – 4 after a penalty shootout, having earlier played a goalless draw at the final blast of the whistle.

To reach the finals, Purple Crown got the curtain raiser at the 20th minute of the second half, as the first half could not produce a goal. But for the agility of the De Don goalkeeper, Purple Crown would have gotten as many as three goals.
At the time of filing this report, Enugu State Football Association officials could not confirm when the finals would be played, but it is believed that the finals will take place on Saturday.
