The Mainpower Electricity Distribution Limited (MEDL) has said there will be a planned power outage at the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) Station in Nsukka in order to carry out maintenance repairs.

The Head, Communications of MEDL, Mr Emeka Ezeh, said in a statement on Monday in Enugu that the planned power outage would be between Thursday, November 5, and Tuesday, November 10, 2026, from 9:00a.m. to 5:00p.m.

Ezeh noted that the planned outage is meant to enable the TCN technical team to carry out maintenance work on some equipment at the station. The exercise will affect electricity supply to the UNN, SUMAS, and Orba 33kV feeders, resulting in power interruptions for customers served by these feeders during the stated period, according to him.

“The areas affected by this outage include: Ukopi, Opi Agu, Eha-Alumona, Orba Town, Obollo-Afor, parts of Obollo-Eke, Enugu Ezike and Ibagwa. Other areas include: Nkalagu, Obukpa, Okpaligbo, Iheaka, Edem Ani, Agbani, Uzo-Uwani, Obimo, Nkpologu, Lejja, Nguru, Aku, and Ogbede and surrounding communities.

“The rest areas are: Odim Gate, Nkpor, UNN, Nru, Ede Oballa, El Tabera Estate, Ikenga Estate, Wilson Company, Umakashi, Isiakpu, G.R.A., and Ogige Main Market,” he said.

Ezeh said that MEDL sincerely regrets any inconvenience the planned outage might cause its esteemed customers and appealed for their patience and understanding.  He said: “The exercise is necessary to facilitate essential technical work aimed at improving the reliability and quality of electricity supply to customers.”
