Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki according to reports is with brother governors of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) following the All Progressive Congress (APC) party Screening Committee, which has barred him from seeking his reelection on the platform of the APC.

He has so far visited Governor Nyesom Wike of Revers State and Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State. Although the meetings were held behind closed doors, political pundits believe that Obaseki may be consulting the strong PDP governors with the possibility of running on the back of the PDP.

Edo State is known as a strong PDP state before the coming of Adams Oshimhole. With Oshiomhole doing everything within his powers as the National Chairman of the APC to stop Obaseki, there is every likelihood that Obaseki may decamp to the PDP to realise his second term ambition.

The Rivers State governor shared the pictures of Obaseki’s visit on his official Twitter handle when he said, “With H.E Godwin Obaseki at the Rivers State Government House, Port Harcourt.”
