A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Peter Obi, has charged Nigerians not to vote for him because of his tribe and religion, but because he can turn Nigeria around positively.
Obi said this on Monday in an exclusive interview on ‘Prime Time’, a programme on Arise Television. He stated that people who are incompetent and lack the capacity, compassion, and commitment for a better Nigeria use their tribe as their certificate for competition.
“Do not vote for me because I’m from the South East or a Christian. Vote for me because I am committed to turning around Nigeria positively. And I will start from the North because I know where the problem is. After bringing back all that productivity that made it for the North to be safe, and moving it to the south.
‘That’s why I keep saying we move the country, from consumption to production, from sharing the wealth to creating the world. When you start creating wealth, people will see it. You build a society where people start work. Talent will match up the opportunity, where a child of nobody can be somebody without knowing anybody,” he said.
