The Senator representing Abia South Senatorial District, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe has formally resigned his membership of African Democratic Congress, ADC. Abaribe was one of the lawmakers who dumped their parties for the ADC weeks back.
NewsBits recalls that Labour Party had over the weekend released its schedule of activities for primary elections. His defection then was met with controversy on the floor of the Senate, with other lawmakers calling for his seat to be declared vacant.
They opposed his defection to the ADC on the grounds that there was no crisis in the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, to warrant his movement. Abaribe has now dumped the ADC for the Labour Party, with immediate effect, ending his membership of the opposition coalition.
