Four Nigerians and six other accomplices have been sentenced to a combined 55 years in prison in the United Kingdom for carrying out a series of violent mobile phone shop robberies across London.

The convicts, identified as David Akintola, Ayomide Olaribiro, Olabiyi Obasa, and David Okewole, were members of an organised gang that targeted electronics and telecommunications stores, particularly EE outlets, between September and November 2024.

Other members of the network include James Adodo, Robert Hills, Nelson Joel, Michael Babo, Mushtakim Miah, and Laville Bloise.

According to a statement by the Metropolitan Police on Monday, the gang committed 13 robberies, using threats of violence to force staff to open secure stock rooms before fleeing with high-value mobile phones and other devices worth about £240,000.

Investigators said forensic and digital evidence, including DNA samples, call data, and vehicle records, linked the suspects to multiple crime scenes. Four members were arrested in the act on November 19, 2024, during a planned robbery at an EE shop in Kilburn.

Following extensive investigations, all 10 suspects were charged and appeared before Kingston Crown Court. Eight pleaded guilty to conspiracy to rob on January 30, 2025, and were sentenced on November 7 after months of trial proceedings.
